My Holiday Home

It’s time to deck the halls! The fact that it’s December just blows my mind – I feel like this was the shortest year ever! Thankfully, there’s an entire month left to enjoy the most cheerful and festive time of the year.

Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday, but there are few things more joy-inducing for me than Christmas decorations. I love twinkle lights, shiny ornaments, seasonal candles, cozy nights at home – the list goes on! The warm glow of the lights makes the house so beautiful and inviting, and I love driving down our street and seeing everyone else’s décor!

For me, the only downside to decorating for the holidays is deciding what theme to go with! I love all of the decorations and my brain goes into overdrive wanting to use them all.

This year, I decided to go with a simple and classic theme – silver and gold luxe. The look is almost minimalist, but also chic and luxurious at the same time. I used a ton of lit trees and twinkle lights to augment the core pieces, and found a few statement items (hello peacock ornaments and brass lanterns) to spice it up a bit.

Everything turned out so beautifully and I’m so excited to share my holiday home with you all. I hope it inspires you to make your home a little merrier and your season a little brighter!

Product links are below each category and at the end of the post I rounded up some of my other favorite seasonal items!

Fireplace and Mantle

After clearing out the mountain of pumpkins from my Fall Décor, I wanted to keep the fireplace scene simple yet beautiful for the holidays.

I have been coveting these lanterns from Pottery Barn for a while now, but then I saw these at Target and knew I had to have them. Not only are they an amazing price, they also look so much more expensive than they are! I bought three and filled them with battery-operated string lights and faux snow et voilà, instant chic!

For the mantle, I loved these white stockings from Crate and Barrel. I wanted to keep it simple otherwise, so I opted for a few garlands and ornaments.

I love how it turned out and the warm ambiance it creates in our living room!

Tablescape

Creating the tablescape for a holiday is one of my favorite things ever! This year, I went all out in our dining room and it is my favorite holiday décor I’ve ever done. These glass trees are so magical and how cute are the little ornament place card holders? One of my favorite purchases of the season are these gold-rimmed champagne flutes. They are so unique and festive and I love how they look on the table!

The dining room feels like a true winter wonderland and I’m so glad to have this as the view from my office for the next few weeks!

Staircase

Since the tree is in close proximity to the staircase, I opted to keep this moment simple. I wrapped a few birch garlands around the banister and finished the look with thick wool yarn and faux snow. I love how it looks simple, natural, and magical!

Christmas Tree

If you read my Ultimate Ornament Guide, you already caught a sneak preview of my tree! My favorite feature of my tree this year is these giant peacock ornaments! They are such a chic statement and I love how unexpected they are.

I actually decorate my tree long before I put up the rest of my décor and I always let it dictate the theme of the year. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of decorating the tree every year with my mom, so shopping for ornaments and putting up the tree is such a treat for me. It’s become a tradition for me to put it up the week of my birthday each year as a gift to myself!

Other Moments

In my home, Christmas décor is literally everywhere. It’s not just about the big moments like the tree and tablescape, I also like to have other little vignettes spread around the house. Sharing a couple of my favorites below!

I hope you’ve all enjoyed this mini tour of my holiday home! Do you theme your holiday décor each year or do you just kind of go with it? I would love to hear some of your holiday traditions!

As always, thank you for reading and sharing!
